BRIDGES
A bridge is a fixed prosthesis used to replace missing tooth / teeth by joining the artificial tooth permanently to adjacent teeth. The gap left by a missing tooth can mean greater strain on the teeth at either side. A gap can also mean your ‘bite’ is affected,
CROWNS
Crowns are an ideal way to rebuild teeth which have been broken, or have been weakened by decay or a very large filling or discolored or damaged in an accident. The crown fits right over the remaining part of the tooth, making it strong and giving it the shape and contour of a natural tooth. .
DENTURES
Missing teeth can affect your appearance as well as your ability to eat the foods you want. Dentures are most common way of replacing lost or missing teeth so People can enjoy a healthy diet and smile with confidence. Dentures are made of either acrylic (plastic) or metal.
DENTAL IMPLANTS
An implant to replace a single tooth avoids the need to cut down the teeth either side for crowns to support a bridge. Normal dentures often mean you can’t eat or speak well, due to the dentures moving about. But teeth attached to an implant don’t cause this problem.
TEETH (TRAY) WHITENING
Whitening can only lighten your existing tooth colour. For a change to specific chosen shade veneering is another option. Whitening also works on natural teeth. It will not work on any type of ‘false’ teeth. This includes dentures, crowns and veneers. Stained veneers, crowns and dentures may need replacing.
VENEERS
A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain made to fit over the front surface of a tooth, like a false fingernail fits over a nail. Sometimes a natural colour ‘composite’ material is used instead of porcelain. Veneers make teeth look natural and healthy and because they are very thin and are held in place by a special strong bond very little preparation of the tooth is needed.
WHITE FILLINGS
Most People have fillings of one sort or the other in their mouths. Fillings are not only functional but can be natural looking as well. Many people don’t want silver fillings that show when they laugh or smile because they are more conscious about the way they look. White Fillings can be used to replace decay, just like silver fillings or replace old silver fillings for cosmetic reasons.

After your dental examination, our receptionist will explain your written estimate/treatment plan for the agreed course of treatment. The NHS charges are set by the government and are displayed in reception.
From 1st April 2019 the new price charges are:-
• Band 1 £22.70 this covers an examination, advice, x-rays and a scale & polish if needed.
• Band 2 £62.10 this covers anything in Band 1 plus any Fillings, root canal work or extractions.
• Band 3 £269.30 this covers anything in Band 1 & 2 plus crowns, dentures or bridges.

Deepa Abdullah:
BDS
Deepa completed BDS from India in 2005. She completed her IQE examinations in 2009 and got registered with the GDC. She worked as a general dentist for 5 years with a local dental practice. In 2014 she started working for Grace Sedation Service providing dental treatment for anxious patients under sedation. Deepa currently works at Hardwick Dental Practice and Grace Sedation Services. Deepa loves cooking and entertaining.
Natalie Speight
Dental Nurse
Nataleigh joined the practice in 2009 and went on to gain her NVQ in Dental Nursing and oral health and registration with the General Dental Council in 2014, after returning to work from maternity leave. Natalie also works part time at the local hospital. Nataleigh is now on maternity leave after the arrival of her TWIN girls!
Melanie Flinders
Hygienist
Melanie qualified in 1992 at Newcastle school of dental hygiene. Worked in a variety of NHS private and Denplan practices in the northeast and Suffolk. Joined Hardwick practice in April 2010 and continues to work in other practices in Stockton, Durham and Middlesbrough.
Melissa Martin
Practice manager/ Registered nurse
Melissa started her career in dentistry by training as dental nurse upon leaving school in 1997. She gained her nationally recognised qualification in 1999 and is registered with the General Dental Council. Her vast experience and knowledge of dentistry can answer any questions or concerns ranging from treatment options to finances. Melissa is also our named Denplan champion as well as our clinical governance leader and can offer you advice on our monthly maintenance plan
Claire Peart
Tranee
She is a trainee dental nurse. She attends Shape training and is working towards her Dental Nurse Qualification. Claire is a very hardworking, friendly and approachable and is making fast progress in her new role.
Shelby Parkinson
Tranee
is a trainee dental nurse. She attends Shape training and is working towards her Dental Nurse Qualification. Shelby is a very hardworking, friendly and approachable and is making great progress in her new role.
Armani Brannan
Trainee Dental Nurse
Armani began her career at Hardwick Dental Practice in March 2015. She is now a fully qualified dental nurse registered with the GDC. Armani is very hardworking, friendly and approachable.
Lyndsey Blackburn
Dental Hygienist
Joined our practice in 2021. Lyndsey is a registered dental nurse who had taken a break from dental nursing and moved on to working in care homes. Lyndsey has now returned to dental nursing and is looking forward to progressing her career in this field.

Meet Dr. Syed Yunus Abdullah
Yunus completed his BDS from India in 2009. He loves dentistry and has a passion for endodontics and orthodontics. He also has a keen interest in facial aesthetics. Outside of his work he enjoys time with his family. Yunus also loves reading, hill walking and astronomy. He is currently learning how to kayak, and very soon you will see him down the river Tees!
